Irenea (she/her) is a research project coordinator for Drs. David DiLillo (VISTA Lab) and Sarah Gervais (OWL Lab). She currently works on an ongoing multi-site longitudinal randomized controlled trial that examines alcohol and social interactions through virtual reality technology.
Irenea graduated from University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. As an undergraduate, she worked as a research assistant in various projects and labs, including the BAR study under Drs. DiLillo and Gervais, a randomized controlled trial that examines alcohol and social perceptions. Being involved in different projects led her to developing interest in research. Her research interest is in trauma and substance use. She currently is also exploring other research areas.
Her favorite parts as a research assistant have been to see different stages of the study and the opportunity to build connections with the faculty mentors and the graduate and undergraduate students in the lab. She is planning to apply to graduate school in psychology in the future.
