Beck Spieth, B.S.

First-Year Graduate Student University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Dept. of Psychology University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Beck (she/her) is a first-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Training Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her interests center around perpetration of interpersonal violence (e.g., IPV, sexual assault) and risk factors for experiencing aggression such as executive functioning, alcohol use, and relationship satisfaction. In assessing these risk factors and outcomes, she is drawn to the use of ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and just-in-time adaptive intervention methodologies. Her clinical passions lie in the dissemination and implementation of empirical practices in community mental health. Specifically, she is dedicated to both intervention and the rehabilitation intervention of aggression perpetrators, as well as posttraumatic recovery.

Beck graduated from Purdue University in 2026 with a B.S. in Psychology, concentrating in research-focused honors and minoring in American Sign Language/Deaf Studies and Critical Disability Studies. Her research-focused honors thesis under Dr. Christopher Eckhardt examined how cognitive flexibility moderates the association between relationship satisfaction and IPV perpetration in a high-risk community sample of heavy drinkers. Extending her commitment to violence prevention beyond research settings, she served as an Educational Ambassador for Purdue’s Center for Advocacy, Response, and Education (CARE), delivering campus-wide programming on power-based personal violence prevention and collaborating with student communities, including fraternity life, to promote evidence-based bystander intervention.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Beck enjoys bouldering, weightlifting, hiking and backpacking, reading, and spending time with her cat, Kip.
